January Meeting Notes

Here is a quick up-date on last week’s CAB meeting.

Under CAB business, it was agreed that we would turn over out “This House Rocks” yard signs to the coaches for their own fund raising or spirit use. Coaches, please advise how many signs you want for your needs.

Under Rewards, a second reading of the use of funds to buy a baseball/softball batting cage. This expenditure was passed. (we had a light turn-out so if any parent rep wants to contest this use of funds, please reply.)

Under opportunities, we are still working on a dinner dance/banquet general fund raiser. Steve Hensley has suggested we consider making this a major effort and use it to improve our weight rooms. This would be a project usable by all athletes.
The spring mulch sale was discussed but no decision was made.

I would love to hear from you if you have any input on any of these above topics.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, Feb 8th, 6:00 in the health room behind the gym.

Thanks,

Chuck Heilman
CAB Chairman

Summary – December 14

Hello All,

Here is a quick summary of last nights meeting:
We have set tentative dated for next semester’s CAB meeting. 1/10, 2/8, 3/8, 4/12, 5/10.

Dianne Perrin has agreed to take over the sale of our “This house rocks with Camel pride” yard signs. Thanks Dianne

Nick Berkley has agreed to set up some halftime contest for our students and Alumni. Thanks Nick

We had a presentation from our Tennis coaches. Thanks for the up-dates, things look very exciting for this year.

We had a first reading for portable batting nets for the baseball and softball teams. Final vote in January

We had a long discussion on holding a banquet with speakers and/or a dinner dance as our big fund raiser for the year.

Coaches, the last point is the main point we need your help on. As the building plans come together for the new CCHS sports complex, there will be items that will be needed that we can assist with. A weight room comes to mind as an example of where we can invest our funds to help out athletes.

Parking cars, selling mulch and hosting golf outings are great, and we may continue to do those things, but If we do this right we can raise between $5K and 10K on this one event. If we have a success, next year we can bump this figure up. Other schools have raised in the 40-50K range doing programs like these.

As of now, we have three volunteers for a committee to start the process for our CAB FUN(D) RAISER, Greg Rose, Sandy Kitchen and Linn Russell. We need more help.

Please review your list of parents and see if you have an outgoing, organized energetic parent that can help with this project. The more hands we have the lighter the load will be and the more success we can have.

Please contact them and ask and contact me when they agree to help.
